PD seriously annoys me so far.
Its completley as if he's humouring us, and makes aclaim that he doesnt want to know about ex forces then writes three paragropphs alluding to top secret stuff and being well conected.
cock.

:P

Sorry about that, my fault for not making a clear point! He is certainly full of himself!

I liked the way when PD corrected Tony about a tank ID that Tony slipped in a reference to 'three recognition points' - which I took to mean that Tony was making clear he was a real tanky, PD is the wannabe!

With my "conspiracy theory" hat on:

I think he's been trying to push us to see what it would take before someone reacted to him in the way that Mods on *other* Airsoft forums would. No-one has done so, so i suspect that he'll calm down a bit.

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Ok even I'm getting bored with PD's condescension . suggest rather than argue with him we just send him ot coventry ie ignore the fucker when he's being a cock .. If he gets no response he might get the message .

TBH between him and poacher are all reenactors this way ? (Our own 2 excepted)

Really don't want to piss him off as Guy says, a very useful contact (which is probably why he is being high and mighty!)

Plus, as you get older you just don't give a shit!

NO, definately not.

There are a LOT of very nice people in the re-enactment community and they get as annoyed with this sort of thing as we do.

Some of them to the extent that they just won't read the forums.

The only reason why PD gets away with it is because he is actually a doer.

I'd like to think they are the exceptions .

BTW I've given PVT Chapple a little slap as we don't need two Oddballs .

Why do I deeply suspect Oddball as being the smoke thrower at Wotan?

http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... 3&start=45

Could it be him saying that he didn't think any harm was done and that it added atmosphere to the event? Could it also be that he has also said he didn't have a torch despite the numerous briefing reminders that it was an H&S requirement?

Can we ban him forever and ever please?

Glad Evo jumped on him on the thread, our regulars are getting good at that! :)

I'd think long and hard about accepting any further bookings from him .
But the power of our memebers ot self moderate this forum is outstanding , thats why I alwasy say stand back and let the regulars deal with it !

No banning. We are in danger of turning into ASCOCK. Posturing forum jocks who are all mouth and no trousers - did any of you talk to Oddball face to face when you had the chance? Explain your issues?

And while I am posting.... This decrying of Allies at Churchills must stop. It is deeply destructive to any prospect of building up an Allied force. The fact that it went tits up for the Allies is a management failure not a player failure. As organisers we must be even handed and encouraging, not putting down.

After the the game on Sunday Kermit asked me how it was looking after the allies, clearing expecting me to roll my eyes and say how crap they were. Well, they wern't. I'm sure Yith and Gadge will concur. They all did bloody well and we did as much as we could given the reduced number and player quality/style. Sure, they needed pushing and Syd got massive numbers of kills shooting his own players in the back  - but even Anne put 100% into it.

Yeah, I agree Chomley, to a degree.

I asked Oddball directly if it was he who threw the pyro, in fact I asked every German who came back to the CP whilst I was there. He denied it, as did everyone else, so we'll never know.

My banning comment was only meant jokingly.

The reason I only agree partly about the CR issue is because despite numerous posts about what people should bring and warnings about the weather only about 10 people on the Allied side turned up with suitable kit and most left without even trying to get through it all. In short they gave up at the first hurdle, despite my constant encouragement to the contrary.

Having now played with the Germans I see that they seem to have a much stronger sense of camaraderie and they also have some very strong characters that bring a lot to that side (Helga, Porta, Tiny, Major etc) but they also seem to tackle the whole thing with a lot more fun, they don't take it as seriously. Also it seems that the Germans have a proportionate amount of Chiefs and Indians, whereas the Allies seem to have lots of Indians and no Chiefs.

Talking to Guy on the way back we were discussing the idea of empowering some of the Allied people who we think have good capabilities. People like Webby. Off the top of my head I struggle to think of suitable candidates though.

Hopefully some of this will be countered by the PBI group being set up who will hopefully become a more cohesive unit similar to the Hohenstaufen and 27th Panzers.

We really should all agree to put CR behind us or it will hang around our necks like a fecking Albatros.

It was too ambitious for the weather and for most of the players, and we didn't manage the changing weather half as well as we could have done .

Yith's comments about the Allies setting their camp up before the game have haunted me since tea time on that Saturday , as it was the right thing to do in the circumstance, but hey hindsight is a fantastic thing .

I suggest we all agree not to mention the players leaving again , it was a much our failing as theirs .
